1. Ultrasonic cleaning machine - what is the "cavitation effect"?
The cavitation effect is the phenomenon in which millions of tiny bubbles (or cavities) rapidly form and burst in a liquid. The generation of "cavitation effect" is the result of the interaction effect between high and low pressure waves composed of high-frequency sound waves (ultrasonic waves). In the low-pressure stage, the bubbles gradually grow larger, while in the high-pressure stage, they are compressed and implode.
2. Is the cavitation effect normal
Poor cleaning results are often due to inappropriate control of changes in the process. Choosing the wrong cleaning solution, cleaning environment temperature, and cleaning time, the cleaning solution level is unreasonable. Here is a special reminder that when using an ultrasonic cleaner with a circulating filter, the water flow must not be too fast. Excessive water flow will seriously affect the "cavitation effect". It can be observed whether there is a "vortex" phenomenon in the cleaning solution, and a "particle" test can also be conducted.
3. Clean with designated cleaning solution
Ultrasonic "cavitation effect" assists cleaning solution in cleaning dust and dirt. For every 10 ℃ increase in cleaning temperature, the reaction rate of cleaning solution to dust and dirt doubles. If the dust residue left after quenching is cleaned with alkaline cleaning solution, the effect is not good. So, it is necessary to select the right cleaning solution based on the type of dust and dirt, and achieve the best cleaning effect at a certain ultrasonic frequency and suitable cleaning temperature.

4. Will ultrasonic cleaning damage my workpiece
When selecting the correct cleaning solution, cleaning time, ultrasonic power density, and ultrasonic frequency, ultrasonic cleaning is definitely safe for most workpieces. The selection of cleaning solution is crucial, as it should have stable performance, good cleaning effect, and not react with the surface of the workpiece. Special attention should be paid when cleaning small workpieces made of rusted steel sheets. Excessive ultrasonic power and prolonged ultrasonic cleaning time can cause yellow brown spots similar to welding points to appear on the surface of the workpiece.
5. Why do I need to 'degas' and how should I do it
Degassing refers to the removal of gases remaining in a solution. When gas remains in the cleaning solution, it will affect the cleaning effect of the ultrasonic cleaner. Firstly, add the cleaning solution to the ultrasonic cleaner, add the cleaning agent, lower the frequency of the ultrasonic waves, and sonicate for a period of time (5-10 minutes, depending on the volume inside the tank) to complete degassing.
After the gas in the cleaning solution is removed, cavitation effect can be generated, and the bubbles formed are in a vacuum environment. When high-intensity pressure waves hit the bubble wall, the bubble bursts, and the energy emitted can help the cleaning solution damage the connection between the workpiece and its attached particles.
